Hypothyroid?
Hey,
I’m slightly hypothyroid but I don’t take any medication for it.
The doctor says it’s not serious enough for medicines and that I can live with it.
The problem is that my metabolism is slow because of the thyroid and it’s very hard for me to lose weight. I would like to know if there are any natural ways to speed up my metabolism. I know iodine is good, and I already try to eat a little more fish. But what else could help?

i have hypothyroid and i take synthroid but does that make my metabolism normal? ?
i’m 18 and i’m pretty skinny (5′4 and 110 lbs) but i’ve always wondered if i still have a slower metabolism then everyone around me? also there is this really fat girl in my grade that also has this condition and blames being fat on it, but isn’t that wrong? i mean i have it too and i’m skinny. i think she’s just lazy and if she actually dieted she could lose the weight. any opinions?
i just learned how to control my eating and it just bugs me when people blame their weight on this condition because i worked hard to not let it affect me and if they wanted to they could as well.

Can you recommend a weight loss pill?
Could someone please recommend an OTC weight loss pill that works? Something all natural that won’t make me jumpy and jittery would be great but I’ll take any suggestions.
I have a hypothyroid disorder (slow thyroid) which is completely sabotoging my weight loss. I am religious about my diet and exercise 4-5 days a week and I cannot lose this baby weight. I have always been a very fit person but since having 2 kids in 2 years and with my slow metabolism, my body just will not allow me to get back to my normal weight. Its very frustrating. All my doc says is that it will be much harder for me to lose weight than the average person. Great, thanks doc. I’ve got a reunion in 2 months and just can’t show up as two ton tilly…help!
Did I mention iworkout 4-5 days a week, WITH a trainer. I’m no couch potato.
My diet has been reviewed by a nutritionist and I was told that it is very healthy, lots of fruits and veggies. I’m slightly neurotic about what I eat, very natural and low fat.

What are the best ways to lose weight?
Hi! I’m 16 years old, 5′8, and 175 lbs (size 10). I have a hypothyroid (slow metabolism and lack of hormones). I want to reach a size 7 and be 155 lbs. I excercise (taekwondo) and I eat extremely healthy. I also take essentiel enzymes to boost my metabolic rate. I have tried everything from no carb to juice diets. What tips do you have to reach my goal? I also am wondering if it is normal to have stretch marks at such a young age and having not gained or lost a ton of weight recently. How can you get rid of stretch marks? Thanks so much and have a great day!
thanks so much guys! it means a lot!

Aeromedical Question, answer from a flight surgeon would be great.?
I just got diagnosed with hypothyroid. Everyone woman in my family has it, no big surprise. I was curious however about if my condition will affect my air crew medical status? I am a private pilot, but I’m also going to be trained as a military pilot in the next few years. My symptoms aren’t debilitating, and the doctor prescribed me a replacement hormone that he says will take me back to normal. I’ve been reading some medical journals and some of them say that as long as it’s treated it’s not an issue, and others say I could never be a fighter pilot because it lowers G tolerance? Some answers would be nice!

In your general opinion, do you think women who are plus size are lazy and eat alot?
I was curious. I am plus size and have a hypothyroid problem. I eat very healthy, never eat fast food period, have a very active lifestyle and am very healthy in my general health. When I started taking my pills I started losing weight. In fact I went from 275 to 200. I have never used diet pills and have never changed my diet or changed activity to lose this weight. But, do most of you think that people who are overweight or obese are inactive? I was just curious as to your opinion.
They hypothyroid problem was undiagnosed for sometime and they did not know what was wrong.
